Color Run 2014

The most magical, amazing thing happened to me the other day. I met a unicorn named Sparkles and she took me to the secret world of unicorns where I enjoyed drinking tea and sliding down rainbows. This secret world was filled with beautiful and bright colors as the sky was purple and the clouds were pink like cotton candy. Magical, colorful dust covered the land and the air smelled sweet like sugar. Errr... maybe that was just a dream. I did get to experience a fun and colorful time though as I attended the Graffiti Run a few weeks ago with my boyfriend!

I found out about the Graffiti run on Facebook and thought it looked like a ton of fun and a great experience. The Graffiti Run is an event held all over the United States and you can go to the website here to see if a color run is coming to your town! Basically the Graffiti Run is a 5k foot race involving lots of colors and the best part? A portion of the proceeds are donated to a bunch of local charities. This event is all about having fun and isn't timed. People of all ages are welcome to run and can take as much time to complete the race as they need. You don't even have to run if you don't want to. You can walk, jog or even dance your way through the race. The race is a little over 3 miles long and has designated graffiti zones where people get blasted with colored powder. The powder is a non-toxic, corn starch based product. So don't worry, it's natural and safe for the environment, washable, and doesn't stain permanently.

Registration costs $50 and includes a complimentary Graffiti Run T-shirt, headband and a bag of color to use before the race.  The only requirement for the race is that participants wear as much white as they can. People have a lot of fun with their outfits. I saw a lot of people rocking poofy tutus and instantly wanted one for myself.

At registration, there is an option to make a team, so my boyfriend and I ran as TEAM PANDA RAIGE! I was really nervous beforehand because I'm not a runner. There were so many people running and so much colored powder though, that I didn't even realize I was running a 5k. It was such a cool experience and I plan on participating in it again next year.

BEFORE:

They gave us a runner number to post on our backs. It made me feel like a real runner. So legit!

We had a ton of fun dowsing each other with our color packets before the race

3...2...1... LET THE RACE BEGIN:

The only negative part about the day was that it was very cold and rainy. Also, the race was at 9 a.m. and I am in no way a morning person.

CROSSING THE FINISH LINE:

Phewww! We made it!

AFTER PARTY:

After the race, there is an after party where people jump up and down, dance and throw powder into the air. It's so cool being in the crowd because you get lost in a cloud of colors.

 Kiss mark! MUWAHH!

My facial expression XD, I thought this photo looked cool though!
